Reviewers agree on the build and handling: a solid metal barrel, integral hood and metal cap, smooth control rings with long focus travel, and a de-clicked aperture ring that works well for video. Close focus and the vast depth of field make manual focusing a non-issue in practice.

They differ on wide-open sharpness. One test on a 24MP body found it sharp to the edges at f/2.8 with negligible colour fringing; another on a 61MP body found the centre only good from f/4, corners needing f/8, and strong vignetting, while flare resistance was slightly better than rival budget fisheyes. The lack of autofocus, electronics and weather sealing is accepted as part of the low price, and both reviews call it good value.

Owner feedback on the L-Mount version is sparse. The one owner report found on the L-Mount listing rates it highly for value for money, accepting that better fisheyes exist but at much higher prices and noting that it fills a gap in the system.
