01What we include
- Lenses whose image circle covers a full 36 × 24 mm frame.
- Native mounts only. No APS-C lenses, no adapted lenses, and no cine-only lenses.
- Discontinued lenses stay listed, so you can compare them with their successors.
02Where the data comes from
- Specifications (optical formula, weight, dimensions, minimum focus, filter thread) come from the manufacturer's own specification pages. Where official sources disagree, the lens page says so.
- Launch prices are the US launch MSRP, confirmed from press releases or launch coverage. If we could not confirm a price, the page shows it as unconfirmed instead of guessing.
- Product images, MTF charts and optical diagrams are the manufacturers' own. They are credited and linked on every lens page.
- Reviewer consensus and ratings appear only after we have read at least two independent professional reviews. Until then the page says “Pending”.
- Owner sentiment is drawn only from first-hand reports by people who own the lens.
Every lens page ends with a Sources section listing the pages we used and, for re-verified records, the date of the last check.
03Ratings
The six-axis rating (sharpness, bokeh, autofocus speed, flare resistance, build and sealing, and value for size) is an editorial 0–10 score summarising what published reviews found. Manual-focus lenses have no autofocus score. Treat the scores as a quick summary and read the linked reviews for detail.
