Optical character
The 75mm F1.4 is a compact, fully manual portrait prime that sits between a 50mm and an 85mm. It gives a little more working distance and compression than a fifty but is shorter and lighter than most fast 85s: about 408g and 77mm long in a metal barrel, sold in a Panasonic L / LUMIX S version alongside E, RF and Z.
The optics are simple, with six elements in six groups, three of them high-refractive-index glass. It has a 13-blade diaphragm, a clicked aperture ring, a 58mm filter thread and a 0.88m close focus suited to head-and-shoulders portraits. There are no electronic contacts.
