Viltrox AF 50mm F2.0 Air L (L-Mount)

Testers found the centre excellent at f/2, with corners taking a big step towards their best by f/2.8, and saw almost no colour fringing. Both L-Mount tests rated it highly for the money: Macfilos called it the niftiest fifty, and Christopher Frost's test, as reported by Fstoppers, found it outresolved Panasonic's Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 and judged it the best lens in Viltrox's series so far. Autofocus on Lumix and Leica bodies is accurate and nearly silent with dependable eye detection, though it is a little slow for tracking fast subjects.

The recurring weak points are a 0.51m close-focus limit and specular highlights that can show hard or bright rims, even though out-of-focus areas look smooth to most eyes. Flare was mild in both tests, with only slight veiling or ghosting.
