Sigma 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art (L-Mount)

Reviewers found centre sharpness exceptional from f/1.4, with weaker extreme corners wide open, and very smooth bokeh with soft-edged highlights and no onion rings. Lateral and axial colour fringing are minimal, and resistance to flare and ghosting is very good. Vignetting at f/1.4 is stronger than on the older DSLR 85mm, and there is visible pincushion distortion that needs correcting.

Autofocus measured quick and practically silent, with high repeatability and only occasional hunting on complex subjects. Focus breathing is clearly visible, about 11% from infinity to 1m, though less than the Sony 85mm GM. Handling is praised for the aperture lock, click switch and AFL button, and both reviews rate it very good value, one noting it costs about a third less than Sony's 85mm f/1.4 GM.
