Optical character
One of Samyang's first two Canon RF lenses, it puts its long-selling 14mm F2.8 optics into a weather-sealed barrel for EOS R bodies. The 14-element, 10-group design uses two ED, three HR, one hybrid aspherical and one aspherical element with UMC coating, giving a 115.7° angle of view.
It is fully manual, with an aperture ring, a long-travel focus ring with depth-of-field markers, and focus down to 0.28m. The bulbous front element rules out screw-in filters. There are no electronic contacts, so aperture data never reaches the camera or EXIF. At 87x120.1mm and 800g it is a hefty lens, and it uses a six-blade diaphragm.
