Optical character
The 17mm f/4 Zero-D Shift is the shift-only version of Laowa's 17mm tilt-shift: the same 18-element optics and ±11mm of shift (one millimetre less than the tilt-shift), without the tilt mechanism, for $250 less and 40g lighter. It is aimed at architecture and interiors, where keeping verticals straight matters far more than tilting the focus plane.
The image circle also covers medium format (±8mm of shift on GFX and XCD). The mount rotates 360° with clicks every 15°, so shifts can go in any direction, and a detachable support with a rotating collar keeps the lens fixed for stitched panoramas. It takes standard 86mm screw-in filters, and focus and aperture are fully manual, with a clicked aperture ring.
