AF is quick and accurate for portraits and stills, and one Sony-mount test found acquisition fast even in very low light. It is not as fast as first-party telephoto motors for tracking action. Sony caps third-party lenses at 15fps. The criticisms are about handling: the aperture ring has no lock and is easy to bump, the hood feels basic, and the tripod collar has no detents.
