Panasonic LUMIX S 20-60mm F3.5-5.6

Reviewers rate it as a strong, inexpensive general-purpose zoom. Centre sharpness is very good to excellent across the range, even wide open, and stopping down a stop or two tidies up the softer wide-angle corners. Lateral colour fringing and distortion are close to negligible once the in-camera corrections are applied. Autofocus is fast and near silent, with very little focus breathing, which makes it easy to use for video.

The complaints are the ones the specification suggests: the variable aperture gives limited background blur and low-light headroom, and 60mm is short at the long end. Testers liked the build, the weather sealing and the 0.15m close focus, and it was judged very good value for money.
