Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL (L-Mount)

Testers found it sharp in the centre from f/5.6 and surprisingly good at the edges for its angle of view, with usable full-frame corners and a slight mid-zone dip that clears by f/8. Coma is well corrected, lateral colour is low, and distortion is moderate and slightly wavy at infinity but rises at close focus. Well-defined sunstars appear from f/8.

The costs are heavy corner vignetting of nearly 3 EV that barely improves when stopping down, some astigmatism, and weak to average resistance to flare and ghosting with the sun in frame. Aperture click stops are unevenly spaced, and with no electronic contacts there is no EXIF data, so profiles must be applied by hand.
