Optical character
The RF-mount Nokton classic is Cosina's symmetrical-design 35/1.4, designed for Canon's mount with ultra-high-refractive-index glass and one anomalous partial-dispersion element in an eight-element, six-group layout. Spherical aberration is left in on purpose, so at f/1.4 it draws softly with smooth bokeh, then turns very sharp once stopped down.
At 260g and 37.6mm long it is very small for a fast 35mm, with a metal helicoid, a 10-blade aperture and a screw-in hood. It focuses to 0.27m. Electronic contacts pass EXIF data, enable magnification, peaking and Canon's focus guide (not on the EOS RP), and feed 3-axis in-body stabilisation.
