The objections are size, weight and price. Most reviews call it a specialist tool that makes sense mainly for fast-aperture night work. For daylight fisheye shots, much smaller and cheaper f/2.8 options do the job.

Owners shooting the Milky Way, aurora and astro timelapses say the f/1.4 speed lets them use much shorter exposures than older fisheyes, and that the corners hold up well. The tripod foot and focus lock earn praise.

Complaints are mostly about carrying 1.36kg for a niche focal length, the protruding front element that needs care, and a price close to $2,000.
